All municipal elections are OPEN and NONPARTISAN and held in even numbered years.
Candidates’ parties will not be shown on the ballot. Only voters properly registered within the corporate limits of the City of Mesquite may vote in City of Mesquite municipal elections.
If you are properly registered, you may vote for all offices on your ballot, regardless of your party affiliation, as well as any questions on the ballot.

CANDIDATE FILING PROCESS:
Candidates can file: March 4, 2024 - March 15, 2024 (on March 15, 2024 from 8:00 am - 11:30 am)
1) Create an Aurora accounting online: https://nvsos.gov/SOSCandidateServices/FO
2) Contact City of Mesquite, NV. City Clerk's office to make an appointment to complete the filing process. Phone: (702) 346-5295 ext. 2208.
At time of appointment, you will need:
1) Filing fee is $25.00 via cash, money order, cashier's check (no personal checks).
2) Valid ID, and proof of 12 months full-time residency in Mesquite, NV.

Updates are typically made several times over the course of the night and then daily until all mail ballots eligible to be accepted have been read. Nevada is a Closed Primary State: In Nevada, voters are prohibited from voting for candidates from another party in the Primary Election.
Only registered Democrats may vote in the contests that decide which Democrats advance to the general election.
Only registered Republicans may vote in the contests that decide which Republicans advance to the general election.
All registered voters may vote in the Nonpartisan contests that decide which candidates advance to the general election.
