Mesquite Ranked Safest City in Nevada for 2018

A new SafeWise report lists the five safest cities in Nevada for 2018 and Mesquite came out on top. Just as exciting is that Mesquite has 83% less violent crime than the state average.

SafeWise is an online safety resource that regularly releases “Safest Cities” reports, and other reports on a variety of safety topics to raise awareness about the state of safety in our country.  The data comes from the most recent FBI crime report. Additionally, SafeWise considers the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape, and robbery) in each city.  They also factor in the number of property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft).  Finally, they calculate the rate of crimes per 1,000 people in each city; thus making a city-to-city comparison easier.
