The Story of the Relief Society House Past to Present and Beyond

January 14, 2022

Mesquite, NV - On Wednesday, February 23, from 6-7 pm, The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum and Virgin Valley Historical Society will be hosting the first Founders Forum of 2022. The event will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers 10 E Mesquite Blvd, Mesquite, NV 89027.

The Relief Society House is one of the older buildings in town and served as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints Women’s Auxiliary (Relief Society)  meeting house. The purpose of the building was to provide a meeting place for the local women where they could provide service to the community, grow personally and support and strengthen their families. The building was later sold and eventually became the home of Wes and Verde Hughes and their twelve children.

Come and learn what makes this building unique to Mesquite and what the future holds for it.
