The goal of the Community Action Team (CAT) program is for issues observed by the citizens of Mesquite, to be addressed, by the responsible City department or other agency quickly and efficiently; issues that comprise of everything from vandalism and littering to water leaks and broken street lights. Officers act as a liaison to City departments including Public Works, Code Enforcement, Animal Control, Parks & Recreation, and Fire & Rescue or other agencies such as the Virgin Valley Water District or Overton Power.
