A welcome letter from the Mayor of Mesquite - "We are currently the fastest growing city in Nevada"

Message from the Mayor

We are well into a new year, and I am more optimistic than ever about our beautiful city and its future. I know that this year will be the continuation of many exciting years to come for Mesquite.  We are always moving forward with no looking back.  Our future is bright and will only get brighter.

Mesquite like many communities have had their challenges over the past decade; we had a recession that we could not predict, we had a pandemic that came out of nowhere, and yes, they set us back, but only briefly.  We are strong, and we recovered from both of these difficult events.  Were gained our status as a great place to live, work, raise our families and retired if we so desired.  We are the envy of the rest of Nevada, especially since we became the safest city in the state.  Of course, with public safety being a priority it was bound to happen. Our police, fire, and other first responders are the best, and it shows! New businesses are coming to Mesquite, and will continue to do so as they realize how business friendly we are.

My goal as Mayor, as it always has been in the past, is to keep Mesquite a wholesome community that will keep, as well as bring new residents of all ages to us.  I am extremely proud of Mesquite and hope our residents and visitors feel as I do.  Working together will reward the fruits of our labor and ensure a bright future for all of us who are excited to call Mesquite, Nevada, “home”.

Sincerely,

Mayor Jesse Whipple
