The City of Mesquite, Nevada is committed to providing equitable access to information and services for all residents, visitors, and stakeholders, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to ensure that our digital content and online services are accessible, inclusive, and compliant with applicable laws and standards.
Commitment to Accessibility
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the U.S. Department of Justice's rule on web and mobile app accessibility (effective compliance deadlines beginning April 2026 for larger jurisdictions and April 2027 for smaller ones), the City of Mesquite aims to make its website (www.mesquitenv.gov) and associated digital content accessible to people with disabilities.
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard for our web content and mobile applications (if any). We also monitor developments in WCAG 2.2 and intend to incorporate its additional success criteria where feasible to enhance accessibility for users with cognitive disabilities, low vision, and those using mobile devices.
