During the months of 2023, staff rewrote Chapter 7 ‘Zoning District’ of Title 9 Unified Development Code to make it easier to read. While working on rewriting Chapter 7, staff also learned that other chapters also need to be amended to have the total configuration and context make sense. Such supplemental amendments have been done to Chapters 2, 8, and 9 of Title 9 Unified Development Code. The Master Plan Committee has reviewed the applicable sections for the past 6 months and approved the changes through the meetings on: March 25, 2024; April 22, 2024; May 20, 2024; June 24,2024; and August 26, 2024 (approved unanimously).

At the same time, the Master Plan Committee also reviewed Chapter 4 Residential Construction Tax of Title 7 Building and Development at their meeting on August 26, 2024 and approved certain changes proposed by the staff unanimously after discussion.

The City Council finally adopted both amendments through a public hearing on September 24, 2024.
